I often hear people quote Jeremiah 29:11 "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the Lord, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.'" (NIV)

It is comforting to know that God has plans for my life. My birth, my childhood, the different phases of my adulthood were not accidents. My life has not been the result of circumstances and people I can't control. Where I am right now -- in 2020 -- is not an accident or a tragedy. I trust God with my life. One reason for that is that He has a plan for me.

Ephesians 2:10 says, " For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." (NIV) Christians often discuss the first half of that verse. But, did you notice the second half? good works which God prepared in advance for us to do.

My life, your life, is not a result of biological happenstance. God has prepared good things for me and you to do with our lives. And He wants to prepare us to do those good things, too.

Let Him. Let's not waste energy "kicking against the pricks." To live with peace and joy we need to surrender to and accept God good plans for us.

Thanks for reading.

News from Jean's Writing Life

I continue to get rejections from agents and authors. At times I get totally discouraged about it and threaten to just quit. But God won't let me. He surrounds me with people who love me and encourage me to keep on keeping on.

I decided to pull myself out of the doldrums and do something new to re-energize my creativity. I'm taking a six-weeks course in illustrating children's books. It's working! This is so much fun just relaxing and drawing. As a pre-teen and a middle grade student I sketched probably everyday. I loved it. (Of course, no one else ever saw my sketches.) I am truly enjoying it. AND, it seems to be awakening the creative side of my brain.

I'm still working with the Planning Team for Write2Ignite Master Class for writing fiction. You can REGISTER HERE to join us ONLINE via Zoom on September 19, 2020.

Prayer Requests

I do have an unspoken request for my family. Thank you for trusting the Lord with me to resolve this problem.

And please pray for me to be watching for God's opportunities to do good works, and His efforts to prepare me to do them.

Until next month--Blessings on you and yours.
